Custom Toonz’ - Your Commission.

Whenever there is a need to make someone smile, a cartoon can speak a thousand words. People will always react positively as they are very good at remembering pictures.

If you are considering a cartoon solution for yourself, or your business then the first step would definitely be to drop me a line!

Having been primarily trained up as an all-round graphic designer, with a bit of advertising and marketing knowledge thrown in for good luck, there is always going to be some way in which I can help you out. It might be nothing… or just a handy hint… It may even be a complete cartoon solution but we’ll never know unless we make contact!

When you first get in touch, either by phone or
email, we will have a friendly and informal chat about your ideas. Remember, the more information you can give me, the better the result you’re likely to get.

If you’re not completely sure about what you want then it’s no problem… we can easily discuss this further as part of your free consultation. There’s no obligation to give me the go-ahead until you are sure of what you want me to produce and we have agreed a price.

…Remember, my job is to come up with a specific, workable solution for you.
It’s just as important that you feel 100% comfortable with my service as I do with your brief too!

If it turns out that there’s really nothing I can help you with then I may be able to share with you some useful ideas and a recommendation of someone else that may be of use to you instead… so there really is nothing to lose!

Once all the initial stuff is taken care of and you are happy with the cost then, for new clients and larger commissions, I will usually require 50% of the agreed fee to be paid upfront before I can crack on with the work.

What happens next?

I'll usually begin by producing some rough work/sketches before copying them over to a private URL for you to view and feedback to make sure I'm definitely on the right lines.

If you are commissioning a caricature, or ‘Cartoon-Cature’, these are created by first sketching the person/people to be drawn from a couple of recent and close up photographs sent either by post or as e-mailed JPEG’s. Remember I can only draw from what is in the photograph. The more information you can give me about any specific details you want the better. Attention to detail always enhances design.

Once you've given me your thoughts, I'll revise the work so far and send you additional drafts if necessary until a final image is created that we're both happy with.

If I have already received a percentage of our agreed fee prior to my starting your project, then the remaining balance will now be required upon completion.

I can accept a payment by bank transfer, cheque and/or cash and I will on occasion even accept payment via Pay Pal for a small additional fee. (Which covers Pay Pal’s commission charges)
I’m happy to provide your artwork as hard, printed copy or on a CD or DVD (for larger files) but most finished artwork can be sent over the internet in formats that you can use with any printer, publisher or embroidery company. We can arrange which way would be best for you towards completion of the commission.
